Features / Applications

Basic Machine Construction

Major machine components, such as base, column and slides, are high strength, stress relieved weldments for excellent rigidity and stability. Their massive, well ribbed design permits the machine to combine heavy roughing and precision finishing in one operation.  These components are sourced locally.

Tool Change System

The random pre-select bi-directional tool conveyor stores 50 CV type taper tools. Tools called for by the part program are automatically exchanged by the tool changer between the spindle and the tool conveyor. Oversize tools can be stored by leaving the adjacent pockets empty. A 48 tool conveyor is standard.

Spindle

IMG_4714 The large diameter spindle shaft / tool clamp mechanism is supported by preloaded bearings for rigid tool support. The cartridge type high torque AC spindle drive assures for excellent cutting tool performance. Based on heavy duty machining, high horsepower and infinite spindle speeds from 0-3000 RPM team-up for efficiency and increased productivity.

Precision Index Table

The fast accurate 360 position index table assures multi-face machining can be done precisely. Hydraulics provides the clamping force for maximum rigidity - stiffness strongly resisting any cutting tool forces. For additional machining flexibility a 720 position (1/2 degree) or a 360,000 position table is offered as optional equipment.

Slide Drives and Ways

Machine ways are made of hardened and ground alloy steel. The slides move on recirculating, preset roller way bearings providing a high level of positioning accuracy. All  axis are powered by high response A.C. servo motors driving pre-loaded ball screws.

CNC Package

Each machine is fitted with a fully customized Fanuc I series control package. Optional hardware and software such as probing and remote handwheel only enhance a very productive package.
